GROW Licking County CIC-ED101 Connect - a brand-new economic development series

Posted on Friday, February 19, 2016 by GROW Licking County

To further our mission to foster economic growth and development across the county, GROW Licking County Community Improvement Corporation is initiating a seminar series, GROW Licking County – ED101 Connect, where community leaders and economic development experts will conduct in-depth presentations to expand community understanding of what economic development is and its critical role in preparing for the future.

"The intent of this series is to provide a critical baseline of education to our county's leadership," said Tim Bubb, President of the Licking County Commissioner's Office. "Through this dialogue, we hope to promote a fuller understanding of economic development and its role with various elected boards throughout Licking County."

Through discussions of best practices, stories of successes and shortfalls, and insight on the importance of collaboration, these seminars will create a core of “in-the-know” community leaders, entrepreneurs, and business professionals that will be armed with the essential knowledge that is critical to individual and combined efforts to improve infrastructure, attract and retain business, and sustain a healthy local economy for residents and municipalities in Licking County.

"As Chairman of the GROW Licking County Board of Directors, I believe it is important to provide this type of service to all interested parties throughout Licking County," stated Mark Johns, Mayor of the City of Heath. "Economic Development is a valuable tool but only effective when its benefits and limitations are fully understood."
