Licking County's 20 Under 40 -- Personalities and Posts

Late last year, the Newark Advocate highlighted 20 various young professionals who are making a difference here in Licking County. As I read many of their stories, I realized how diverse this group was -- from their hometowns to industries and everything in between. This is why -- over the coming weeks, GROW Licking County hopes to share their stories through this blog via guest posts.
It is our hope to share and spread their thoughts on the community, why the chose to live here, and what they believe makes Licking County such a special place.
As one of this year's honorees, what has struck me the most about our community has been how welcoming the region's leadership has been. As a native Pittsburgher, it is always hit & miss (especially about sports teams -- I am not a truly obnoxious Pittsburgh-fan, but I have some moments). However, everyone in our community has been very inviting and welcoming to the "new guy."
Beyond this, my wife & I have both been struck by the amount of activity happening in Licking County. Between the beginnings of the Chamber's new Young Leaders group to events at the Midland or concerts at the new 31 West facility, there always seems to be SOMETHING going on. The hardest part for us has been deciding what event to go to -- not necessarily trying to see what is going on.
